The Tetons

Tetons, Bison

The Tetons in Wyoming are one of the most familiar and yet one of the wildest landscapes in America. Settled only a century ago, the broad valley and tall peaks of the park are home to bison, elk, bear, marmots, moose, and man, all thriving amid spectacular scenery and lush wildflowers. A late-comer compared to Yellowstone, its companion park to the north, Grand Teton National Park wasn't consolidated and established in its present size and scope until 1950. Even today, the park extends just beyond the peaks seen at left. Since some of the images in this section were taken outside the park boundaries, I've chosen to call this simply The Tetons.
