Bacterial Art

Prehistoric Geyser

Okay, I know. Bacteria. Yuck. But just go with me on this one. I think you'll be surprised. With the flood of anti-bacterial products on the markets these days, it's easy to get the impression that bacteria are out to get us. But the Yellowstone caldera is not only the most geothermally active place on earth, it's also home to the most primitive artistic colonies. This art is not just beautiful in its own right, it also offers us a glimpse into a world not only little known to most people, but largely unknown to science even today.
